Ground Turkey and Sausage Stew (crock pot)

Ingredients: 1 lb ground turkey 12-16 oz fully cooked sausage (for this I used 16 oz Jalapeno Slovacek sausage) 16-oz package of frozen stew vegetables 6 cups of water 1 packet of french onion soup mix 1/4 cup of flour (or packet of gluten-free brown gravy mix if avoiding wheat/gluten) 1. Brown the ground turkey in a skillet. Slice the sausage, then add it to the ground turkey just after the pink color has gone away. Brown both for 5-10 minutes. 2. Remove the meat from the skillet with a slotted spoon and add to the crock pot. Add the vegetables, french onion soup mix, and water to the crock pot. 3. Set the crock pot to Low and cook for 8 hours. 4. Add the flour one hour before cooking time ends. Stir thoroughly until all lumps are gone. 5. Serve what you'll eat; freeze what you don't ;) Note: I just recently found out that I'm allergic to wheat and gluten, so now I substitute gluten-free brown gravy mix for the flour.

Another side note...

I forgot to mention this yesterday! If I find a great crock-pot (or stove-top) recipe that I think is absolutely delish, I'll post a review along with the link. Some things just cannot be improved upon :D Lisa
